Hosting & Server Logs

Our website is hosted on a virtual private server (VPS) provided by IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). IONOS SE processes personal data (e.g., IP addresses in log files) on our behalf. For this purpose, we have concluded a contract for order processing (AV contract) in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. When you visit our website, we automatically collect and store data in so-called server log files that your browser transmits. These are: IP address, date and time of request, timezone difference to GMT, URL, content of request, browser type and version, HTTP status code, operating system and its interface, and referrer. This data is used solely to ensure secure and stable operation and is deleted after a short retention period. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating a secure website).

Contact by E-Mail

If you contact me by e-mail, the data you provide (name, e-mail address, message content) will be stored to process your request and for any follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on to third parties. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary to respond to your enquiry) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Data is deleted once the matter is resolved and no retention obligation applies.

Local Storage

This website stores your language preference (English or German) and theme (dark or light) in your browser's local storage. No personal data is involved; the value is a simple language code (“en” or “de”). It is not transmitted to the server and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.

Analytics

This website uses Umami, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool. Umami collects anonymised data only: page views, referrer, browser type, operating system, device type, and country. No cookies are used, individual users are not tracked across multiple sites, and no personally identifiable information is collected; IP addresses are processed only in anonymized form and are not stored. All data is processed and stored exclusively on our own server in Germany and is never shared with third parties. The legal basis is Art. (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used in order to improve it). The legitimate interest outweighs any potential concerns, as no personal data is stored and no harm is caused to the individuals concerned.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. If you believe that the processing of your data violates applicable law you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
